How to measure your feet

It's simple. All you need is a box or another object with a straight edge. Take off your sock before measuring.

If the measurement doesn't go well, don't worry. We'll exchange your Ahinsa shoes for free, in a flash.

  1. Stand with your heel completely against the wall. Put your weight on the foot.

2. Place the box in front of your toes parallel to the wall.

3. Measure the distance perpendicularly from the wall to the box.

In a healthy shoe, you need a little extra free space so the foot can work naturally. So don't be alarmed if the shoes feel “bigger”.

Not sure? We’ll help

We know Ahinsa shoes... well, as our own shoes. We'll pick the right size for you in no time.

All you need to do is trace an outline of your foot on paper and write to us. How?

  1. Take off your sock, stand on the paper and put your weight on the foot.

  2. Take a pencil and trace around the foot. Keep the pencil upright, don't draw under the foot.

  3. Then scan the paper and send it to info@ahinsashoes.com.

  4. Add a scale: For example, write that it's A4 paper, or photograph a ruler with it.

  5. Attach a photo of your feet.

Within 2 days, we'll write to you which model and size are ideal for you.

How to try on shoes so they really fit?

  1. Try them at home first. If the shoes don’t fit, you can exchange them unworn.

  2. Put on socks before you try them on.

  3. Tie the laces.

  4. Walk around in the new shoes, stand on tiptoe, have a little jump.

When trying on and choosing a size, watch out for...

Toe allowance

There must always be free space in front of the toes so the foot can move naturally. So don’t be alarmed if the shoes feel “bigger”.
When you stand on tiptoe, there should be about a finger’s width of free space in front of your toes.

Foot width and instep height

For every Ahinsa shoes model you’ll also find the width at the widest point and the instep circumference.
If you know that shoes often feel tight, pay attention to these measurements.

You often ask

I have a wide foot. Which Ahinsa shoes will fit me?

Especially for wide feet, we've designed the xWide line. All shoes with this label are wide enough for your feet to function naturally in them. You'll find extra-wide sandals, casual shoes, sneakers and ankle boots.

I have a narrow foot. Which Ahinsa shoes will fit me?

If you’re looking for ballet flats for a narrow foot, we have great news for you: we’ve designed and made ballet flats for you in an extra-narrow version. You’ll find a variant with an instep strap or without a strap.

Besides ballet flats, all our shoes with laces or an adjustable strap will fit you.

I have a high instep. Which Ahinsa shoes will fit me?

Ahinsa shoes are very roomy. But lace-up models fit you best. Customers with a high instep praise our Chitra sneakers most, because they’re lace-up and, what’s more, made from very pliable mesh.

We also recommend:

I have a wide calf. Which Ahinsa shoes will fit me?

If you’re looking for boots, we recommend the lace-up Jaya. We have them in a mid-calf version and a below-the-knee version. And if you feel the cold easily, choose the variant with fur lining Jaya Winter.

I have a narrow calf. Which Ahinsa shoes will fit me?

All Ahinsa shoes fit a narrow calf. You can tighten our Jaya boots to suit you thanks to the lacing. And these classic boots hug a narrow calf too, thanks to neoprene at the back.

The shoes don’t fit. What should I do?

Get in touch with us, we'll exchange the shoes in a flash and cover the postage. You'll find the detailed process on this page. Just a heads-up: we can only exchange shoes that you haven't worn outdoors and that show no signs of wear.

Can I try Ahinsa shoes on somewhere?

You can – we'd be delighted. In Prague, you'll find us right in the city center at Londýnská 309/81. If that's too far, visit one of our partner stores across the Czech Republic.

And for those of you who don't have a partner store nearby either, we have a third option. Order Ahinsa shoes to your home, try them on, and if they don't fit, send them back to us. We'll cover the postage and immediately send you the right size or model.
